The Diploma in TESOL/TEFL is a purely online-distance course. The TESOL/TEFL Diploma is a highly-regarded advanced qualification in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language. The Diploma course is intended for experienced ESL teachers who want to further their qualifications in the ESL field and who want to be eligible for management positions such as Director of Studies, Academic Director, or Teacher-Trainer.
The Diploma course engages the teacher-learner in critical analysis of the English language and the techniques and theories of second language learning and teaching. The course includes both a practical and theoretical approach, and throughout the course teacher-learners are asked to evaluate current ESL theory in light of their present classes and/or previous experience and to draw new insights, ideas, and conclusions.
INTESOL PERU is only licensed to provide the Diploma course to nationals and expatriates currently residing in the country of Peru.
COURSE MODULES
The Diploma course consists of 10 units/18 modules. Each module consists of course notes; a variety of self-check exercises as well as assignments for submission. Your online tutor marks each module as it is submitted and returns your work with comments, guidance and a grade for each module. There are no written examinations.
Materials are sent to teacher-learners by email and you submit your work to the online tutor by email. You DO NOT need to be online to complete the course assignments.
COURSE OUTLINE
APPLICATION
To be accepted onto the Diploma course you must already have a TESOL/TEFL certification or equivalent (a major in Education or ESL), plus a minimum of 1 year teaching experience. After you complete and send the online application we will thoroughly review your answers. Successful applicants will be notified by email within 2-4 days following their application. Applicants who are not native English speakers must also provide evidence of their proficiency level in English.
ASSESSMENT AND GRADING
The theoretical and practical components of the Diploma course are continually assessed - there are no written examinations. You will be given a number of assignments throughout the course, which are submitted for assessment by your online tutor.

Upon successful completion of the course, trainees are awarded a certificate with one of the following grades:
A1 - Distinction
A2 - Excellent
B1 - Very good

Successful candidates will receive the INTESOL Diploma in TESOL accredited by the Open and Distance Learning Quality Council (ODLQC).
