Teaching English for International Business

The Certificate in Teaching English for International Business is a supplementary qualification for qualified English teachers who have little or no experience teaching Business English. Increasing demands for qualified Business English teachers have made this qualification a very attractive asset on any ESL teacher’s résumés/CV. This course is available as a 6-day intensive onsite course or as an online-distance learning course.

APPLICATION

To be accepted onto the TEIB course you must already have a TESOL/TEFL certification. After you complete and send the online application we will thoroughly review your answers. Successful applicants will be notified by email within 2-4 days following their application. Applicants who are not native English speakers must also provide evidence of their proficiency level in English.

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Your schedule will normally consist of lectures and group work in the morning with simulations and presentations in the afternoon. The TIEB course emphases Task-Based-Learning (TBL) and trainees are taught using the TBL approach.

The 6-day schedule generally looks like this:

Monday – Saturday (Onsite)

9:00 – 12:00    Lecture and group work sessions
12:00 – 13:00  Lunch
13:00 – 15:00  Simulations and presentations

Trainees choosing to study for the TIEB Certificate via online-distance learning, will make their own schedules. It usually Requires 4-6 weeks to complete the online-distance TIEB Certificate.

ASSESSMENT AND GRADING

The theoretical components of the TEIB course are continually assessed - there are no written examinations. You will be given a number of assignments throughout the course, which are submitted for assessment by your teacher-trainer. or online tutor.

Upon successful completion of the course, trainees are awarded a certificate with one of the following grades:

   A1 - Distinction
   A2 - Excellent
   B1 - Very good
   B2 - Good
   C - Pass

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

In order to earn your TEIB Certificate, candidates must pass all 6 modules of the TIEB course.

QUALIFICATIONS OBTAINED

Successful candidates will receive the College of Teachers Certificate in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and the INTESOL Peru Certificate in Teaching English for International Business (TEIB).
